I started off looking at the laws of UX and as much as I would love to use all of them, I decided to stick with only 5 laws of UX.
These laws of UX were;
Occum's Razor - avoids complexity
Tesler's Law - Leave working UI alone
Ziegarnik Effect - providing knowledge of tasks
Law of Prägnanz - creating complex shapes into simple ones
Law of Proximity - Keeping compatible UI together
I have chosen these laws of UX because I believe that these will help with usability the most when designing my wireframes.
Heatmaps
I was looking into heat maps because I needed to understand where would be the most and least used buttons on the game Animation Throwdown. This leads me to create my own heatmap using a 5-minute playthrough recording of myself playing the game.

I created a 5 colour palette from red, orange, yellow, green and blue. Each colour represents the number of buttons pressed on the screen so this does exclude vertical or horizontal scrolls.
I made a 3x7 grid on top of a size of an iPhone artboard that I made before making any wireframes on Adobe XD. Made sure it was big enough for buttons to be pressed but this may have caused the accuracy to be reduced as I am only detecting a general area.
This was the result!
Xbox Achievements
I looked into how Xbox displays Pop-ups and they have it as temporary pop-ups that are displayed for a few seconds giving the user enough time to read it. So taking inspiration from that, I am planning to design a similar sense of satisfaction with the user. Instead of forcing the user to press on a completed quest pop-up, they would be given the opportunity to press on the pop-up that directs them to the Quest menu or continue what they were doing.
Cobra Kai: Card Fighter Game
I originally had the idea of making a new HUD for the new game mode by using this game as research on adding a new style to the game. However, with everything I was making already. I decided that the scope was too high and pushed this back and instead just developed the menu design of the game mode.
